2011 Residencies
The Board of Trustees of Juilliard in Aiken with the help and support of the Aiken community has been able
to ensure a permanent home for the unique partnership between our community and the world’s pre-eminent
performing arts conservatory, the Juilliard School; a partnership that not only brings supremely talented musicians
and artists here to perform, but also enhances the arts programs in our schools at a time when such programs are
struggling to survive elsewhere.
The success of the past two years has resulted in an exciting new initiative for Juilliard in Aiken. We are extremely pleased to announce that Juilliard in Aiken, in partnership with the Joye Cottage Foundation, will be sponsoring a series of Juilliard Artist Residencies throughout the year.
January will bring a three-day musical experience with pianist Elizabeth Joy Roe and string artists Claire Bryant, Owen Dalby and Carol McGonnell in residence at USC Aiken. These distinguished artists will provide the Aiken community both outreach to area schools and performance opportunities in venues across the community, including an after hours concert at The Wilcox and a performance at Helping Hands.
